Creating A Travel Itinerary - Unique Things to Do at the Beach

Here are some other suggestions to consider for enlivening your beach resort vacation. Don't forget your sand sculpture or sand castle building tools. Go inner tube surfing (cheap and increasingly harder to get but you can also deflate them), play with a beach ball (nice because they deflate for easy carrying and storage), you can toss a foam rubber ball Frisbee. The old favorites are always fun which is why they're still popular. Get up and get active with some of these suggestions. You can also do more than just get a tan (or a sunburn). There aren't "elbow-to-elbow" tourists, of course, all the family can enjoy the shore provided. The beach isn't just for kids and teenagers.

Collect driftwood 1.

How might you mount or display them? What might they look like when painted or polished? What figures or forms do the driftwood shapes conjure up in your mind? But profitable pastime as well, this can be not only a unique, especially if you're of a creative bent.

Collect shells 2.

A display or shadow bow of your best finds when you get back home, make a collage. Foreign or strange beach which may well offer up some unique surprises, even more so if you're on a new. It can still serve as an interesting activity for the kids (or you), long a popular beach pastime with children and adults alike.

Catch crabs and crustaceans 3.

Much to the profit of the local ice cream vendors, sometimes a fisherman would buy our "catch" for use as live bait. It also kept us out of "trouble" or at least reasonably so, with eleven younger brothers and sisters. It made for an interesting series of "catches" and provided endless hours of simple fun for me and my siblings. Sand worms and even small fish, crustaceans, we used to walk along in the surf of the Chesapeake Bay with a framed meter-square piece of window screen to trap all kinds of small crabs.

Surf fishing 4.

It's like standing in an aquarium, in many tropical waters. You'll often be thrilled at the number and size of the fish and other sea creatures you'll see all around you below the surface. Stand still for a few minutes with your face in the water, wade out to waist-deep water, just put on a snorkel and dive mask. Some surprisingly large catches can be made in less than two feet of water. And try your hand at whatever the regional waters offer, local regulations and conditions permitting, whip it out. There are all manner of collapsible of multiple piece rod and reel kits you can easily pack in a suitcase or store in a car trunk.

Catch live bait 5.

Keep them alive and fresh in a bucket partially filled with water. Be sure to check local regulations first. Small eels and crabs are all susceptible to this method, sandworms, crustaceans, minnows. Walk along in knee-deep surf with an old window screen and bucket, use a cast net. Like bait can often be sold to local fishermen (or use it yourself), as was mentioned earlier.

Relax or get a "surf massage" 6.

Backwards or other variations as the surf changes, change positions forward. Move forward until the surf covers you up to the belly button. Sit facing the surf with your legs outstretched. It's free and the surf never gets tired or overcharges you. Another alternative is to let the sea and surf "massage" you as you lay there. Be sure to negotiate prices before services are rendered to avoid any price gouging. In numerous resort areas there are locals who offer this service right at the beach. Soak and soothe those aching bones with a relaxing massage.

Go walking 7.

Fifteen minutes back to your starting point should do you nicely, fifteen minutes out. So a thirty minute walk is a good workout for the day, a normal rate of walking is a mile and a half in fifteen minutes. Try walking in the surf itself, for maximum huff and puff. Walking on dry sand gives you more of a "workout" than walking on sand that is still damp from the receded surf. Walking is almost always pleasant, already identified as a "best" exercise activity.

Nature watch or people watch 8.

They could become especially troublesome at night. As I paid more attention during my comings and goings in and around the city I noticed they were almost everywhere. I was more than a little surprised to learn from a local resident that feral cats are a big problem in Acapulco. What about snakes? What fauna frequents the area? Squid or other unusual forms of marine life? Crabs? Dolphins? Are there sharks? Birds or sea life are common where you are, what animals? What can you tell about them from watching? What do you think they do for a living? Is that couple married or dating? Pick a good vantage point and note what happens all around you. Okay so if you're just in a "do nothing for awhile" mood then nature or people watch depending on where you are.

Try some of these as an alternative to the usual "do nothing" day. Creative or stimulating time for you and the family, these and other imaginative activities can help turn a "lay in the sun and burn" day at the beach into a much more relaxing.

Airfare To Thailand Cheap - SOA Testing For the Travel and Hospitality Industry

But it does come uncomfortably close to defining the ambiguity that can surround SOA, " Fowler's take on SOA may be light-hearted. And that the synchronicity doesn't matter, that it's synchronous, that it's asynchronous, that it's independent of Web standards, that it uses Web standards, that it combines data and process, renowned enterprise software design consultant Martin Fowler has this to say about Service Oriented Architecture (SOA): "I've heard people say the nice thing about SOA is that it separates data from process!

SOA also raises distinct challenges in testing and implementation, software and process technologies, but with myriad available choices in hardware. Effective in integrating heterogeneous systems and able to maximize the enterprise's existing IT assets, responsive to market conditions, sOA promises to connect diverse services into a seamless process that is reusable.

SOA and the Travel and Hospitality Industry

And business scalability, customer satisfaction, an SOA can facilitate reusability and integration of systems crucial to efficient work cycles. The travel and hospitality industry (and airlines in particular) leads the pack in adopting IT - and SOA - into core business.

SOA brings the travel and hospitality industry the following benefits:

* Seamless connectivity over heterogeneous IT legacy
* Real-time deployment of new business partners
* Reduced change implementation cycles
* Faster customer service leading to higher customer loyalty
* Improved marketing analysis
* Effective failover management

SOA Application Testing: Challenges and Approaches

Means part-makers are further isolated from each other, along with outsourcing and off-shoring, this shift. SOA focuses on delivering reusable parts rather than custom applications. This significantly impacts the 'what' and 'how' of testing. The SOA model requires numerous moving parts to communicate and work together closely amid constant change.

Construction and transition can also balloon time and costs, elaboration, " Failure to start tests early (at the unit stage) and maintain them through the phases of inception. And interface-by-interface, service-by-service, we must test applications end-to-end, business-level services distributed over a network, makes the challenges with SOA application testing easy to understand: "Since SOA applications are composed of loosely coupled, chief technologist at PerfTestPlus, scott Barber.

As is the assurance that long-term savings will offset the short-term cost associated with automation, finding the balance between automated and manual testing is crucial to the process. Manual testing is difficult and often impossible in an SOA environment where change is rapid and functionality is extensive.

Two of the most important facets of SOA testing are

Functional Testing

Challenges

* Large number of application programming interfaces (APIs) and communication paths between services
* Higher levels of integration necessitate interoperability testing
* Establishing testing ownership and trust

Approach

Intra-application and unit entities is carried out, once this is achieved a similar funnel breakdown into inter-application. And data as well as expected results documented at every step, test scenarios that encompass the end-to-end path are created. This happens both at inter- and intra-application levels. The most critical functional tests are conducted at the stratum of integration. Ensures that basic functionality is verified, starting with the most atomic, testing at all these levels. Intra-application and finally unit tests, these flows are then broken down to identify inter-application. Tests address end-to-end business flows at the first and broadest rung. A funnel approach is employed, in order to test functionality of such breadth. SOA applications are created to extend across departments and organizations.

Integration tests can also be carried out with regular functional tests if they possess a similar technology stack. Exploratory testing using business experts can unearth defects hidden to other techniques.

Performance Testing

Challenges

Requiring various test tools
* Collating data and monitoring application performance without a single tool that contains the whole picture
* Maintaining quality across applications * Unit and service-level testing during development
* Interface validation
* Multiplicity of platforms and technologies,

Approach

Appropriate performance scenarios can be defined, with this information. Raw data in the form of Web server and application server logs are then mined for data on usage probability. Subjective assessments are drawn from usage feedback given by stakeholders and product managers. Markov chains are commonly used to define how the entire suite of applications will be used. It requires a design of the end-user workload and environment. Performance testing can identify how the model will actually work under real-world business demands.

SOA: A Promising New Paradigm

They are not inevitable, while the benefits of SOA may seem compelling. More businesses are beginning to adopt SOA solutions for significant market response and resource advantages.

SOA applications can go a long way in smoothening experiences across the value chain: but not without robust implementation and rigorous testing throughout the SOA life cycle. The travel and hospitality industry thrives on the ability to turn first time or occasional customers into loyalists.

Muskoka Resorts - New York Cruises - 10 Tips For Cutting Cruise Costs

A trend that is continuing as air travel gets pricier and more unreliable and a gallon of gasoline pushes the $4 per gallon level, roughly one million people opted to take a New York cruise, in 2007. Mountains of food and entertainment, including a stateroom, a cruise is one of the best travel deals you can find: some 80% of your travel costs are included in the price of the cruise ticket. The reason? Cruise line CEO's report that their industry is still going great, while the economy is unstable and we may think about eliminating our vacation.

Why fly to the Caribbean when a dozen or so ships sail from the three ports of New York, and? Newfoundland and Quebec City, bar Harbor, let the cruise line worry about the price of fuel as you spend a day in lovely ports like Newport, instead of taking a Canada/New England vacation by car. But Bermuda cruises make the destination highly affordable since the ship is both your hotel and restaurant. Bermuda is one of the priciest destinations in North America, for example.

I'm passing along my tips for cutting cruise costs even further, since New York cruisers are bargain hunters who want the very best deal possible.

Lawyer or anyone in a service business, as you would a doctor, the best way to find a terrific agent is to ask for referrals. Travel agents know when bargains become available before the public. Better ship and show you a discount you didn't even know about, in many cases, he or she can steer you to another. A terrific travel agent is critical to getting the best deals. 1.

Sometimes a few staterooms Pounce, whenever a great deal on a cruise pops up! 2.

Are available a month before departure and these will go in a nanosecond

Sign up for weekly bargain newsletters from a bunch of them. Run "cruise travel agent" in Google and you'll pull up hundreds of travel agencies. 3.

Free gratuities and/or onboard credit will save money. Cabins are standard in size and amenities and cruise lines will only upgrade you in the category you're already booked in, cabin upgrades rarely are: today, for example. Know what a bargain is and is not. 4.

You'll find the best prices outside these periods Peak season for Canada/New England cruises is September and October. Ships are normally full of families, from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Cruise during the shoulder season. 5.

I got the same deal for $30, by going directly to Budget. One cruise line offered a one-day Budget car rental for $70, for example. You can arrange the same excursions on your by visiting the port's web site. Which are over-priced, the cruise line's shore excursions, or eliminate, cut down. 6.

Most change cruising seasons in March and October/November, while a few ships sail year round from New York. Repositioning cruises are the very best deal of all. 7.

Then buy it on EBAY or head for your local discount store, if the answer is "yes". But do you really need anything, i know it's fun to buy new clothes for a cruise? 8.

But gasoline keeps climbing and parking is very expensive, not only is driving in New York a nightmare. Check out alternative transportation such as Amtrak or bus service, if you live outside the New York metropolitan area and plan to drive to New York or Brooklyn. 9.

I've eliminated massages since they're never as good as what I'll get in New York and cruise ship spas charge 40% more. Do you really need more T-shirts? Art auctions and other revenue generating areas, today cruise lines get the bulk of their revenue from onboard purchases so they push the spa. Decide which on-board expenses are unnecessary, before departing. 10.

Plan A Trip Online - What Are the Benefits of Traveling Alone? Backpacking Europe - Should I Travel Solo?

I had never been east of Utah, in fact. I had been a homeboy all of my life living on the west coast of the United States. It was my first real trip anywhere.

And had no choice but to commit to it, bought a ticket departing in 5 weeks, went online, i chose a date that I would embark on my journey, so. Or part of it anyway, every year I would tell myself that I needed to head out on an extended vacation and just roam the world. I grew up in Seattle all of my life and for the past 7 years I've been living in the Los Angeles rat race.

Your word should always be as good as gold. You'll have no choice but to follow through on your word, as the days tick away, and after a few weeks. Your friends will be reminding you all the time, believe me. That you are going to do it on that day, pick a date and tell yourself and everyone you know, or something that you always say you're going to do, rather than just talk about something that you want to do. I have a tendency to work better that way.

Live like I have never lived by surrounding myself with everything foreign and unknown, eat foods that I was unaccustomed to eating, create new friendships, experience foreign cultures. Explore and create, challenge. Leave my comfort zone. Go alone and get away from everything and everyone that I knew. That's exactly what I needed to do, it donned on me, then. " I can't go alone! "who's coming with me, the next question was, now that I bought my ticket?

Embrace the challenge.

Why would I want to party with them in another country. I can hang out with my friends (like I've been doing all of my life) at home in the US, besides. At this point, i need this time to discover life and the world on my own. This vacation is all about me. No dice. In fact a couple of friends wanted to meet me out there to party out in France and Spain. Alone I went, thus. So be it. I always deepen the stakes, "A man who risks nothing- gains nothing" and, i have always lived with the motto.

It's no wonder that France is one of the most visited countries in the world! . . Cafes, art, history, wine, cobble-stoned streets, cathedrals. And one that famous composer Frederick Chopin lived in right before he died, most of them ruins, we visited 8 Medieval castles. The countryside is absolutely beautiful in France and virtually untouched by tourist. Approximately 6 hours by train southwest of Paris, in the countryside of France, in France I met an awesome French girl and stayed at her place for 8 days (5 days longer then I had originally planned).

This is easy. Time was going fast and traveling alone in Europe was a cake walk and more than met my expectations. Two and a half weeks into my trip and I was living it up!

Madrid. The main event. I packed it up and headed to the very center of Spain, after hanging out decompressing on the Mediterranean for 2 days in a quaint little town called Alicante.

Spain, i observed her for 2 hours at Parque de Retiro in Madrid.

. . Etc, life in Spain, food and how she missed her big meals at home in Denmark, our families, we both sat there for another 2 more hours and spoke in english and asking questions about each others cultures and customs, so. Thank God! " Whew! I speak english, " "I'm from Denmark! ! She said "you speak english, amused? I mustered up enough courage to ask her something in my severely broken Spanish, shocked and excited. She sits on my park bench to put on her roller blades, 2 hours later, the next thing I know. She stood out among all of the shorter brunette Spanish nationals. 2 hours, at this point, she was this tall striking blonde sun-bathing at this park for.

All living in the same apartment living in Spain to study Spanish and art, and a French girl, a Norwegian girl, the next night we met up with her friends 2 Swedish girls.

Ultimately came out to visit me in Los Angeles within a year of returning home from Europe, two of the girls that I met on my trip! I even extended my trip for another 5 days before heading back to Los Angeles. They also invited me to stay at their apartment(which I happily obliged) for the remainder of my trip! These girls were off the hook! We would usually end the night at aroud 5-7am every night, to club, to club, going from club. It was party time, for the next week and a half!

And meeting people I did, i love meeting people! These are memories that I will always cherish, needless to say.

. . Because I traveled alone. The bottom line is this.

. . If I didn't travel alone. And the grass IS greener on the other side, i was in God's country. A great benefit to traveling solo. . . Ahhh. I stayed and went wherever and whenever I wanted to. FROG LEGS, that's right! I ATE FROG LEGS! Ever see, i saw places that millions of tourists will never. The rest of my life, perhaps, i forced myself to talk to locals and other travelers and I met a lot of great people that I will be friends with for.

I would have NEVER spent 8 days in the countryside of France.

We're off to the nearest pub for an afternoon brewski always falling back at each other for conversation instead of absorbing the culture and ambience at our own pace and meeting new people, 30 minutes at a park and BAMM, if I was with a friend, think about it! I would have NEVER sat a a park bench for TWO HOURS!

It was a riot! Thus extending my trip 5 more days and crashing out at their pad partying until 5-7am each day, thus meeting her friends, i would have NEVER met the Danish girl.

Sitting on that exact same park bench at the exact same time that the Danish girl eventually chose to sit on to put on her roller blades, i would have never been at that park in Madrid, if I didn't spend 8 days in France's coutryside (as opposed to the original 2 day that I intended). It's a whole trickle down effect, the way I see it is this.

Traveling ALONE is the only option.

And wander around Europe solo, get a cheap Eurail pass, buy your plane ticket!

But your experience will probably not be as rich and as cultured as it has the potential to be, perhaps. Do you really think that you are going to maximize your travel experience by bringing along a friend? Be honest with yourself. And I highly suggest that you step out of your comfort zone and meet a few of them- in other countries, there are an estimated 6 billion people in the world, folk's.

Then meet up in a different city and share your adventures and stories, or three, or two, choose to separate for a week, if you're traveling with a friend. You'll see them when you get back, for crying out loud! But not for your whole trip, meet up for a few days and have fun, fine, if your friends want to meet up with you!

Be proactive. Challenge yourself. Take the risk. Don't be afraid.

" Have a great time and "May the force be with you! And bring an adventurous and unabashed spirit, most of all be safe. Stop talking about it and DO IT(alone)! Life is what you make out of it.

happy Travels,

Tony P
